Garage floor coating in Brossard

Brossard is one of the most linguistically mixed cities in Quebec, and one of the fastest-growing on the South Shore. Its lettered sectors run from the original 1960s and 70s bungalows off Taschereau to the dense new construction around Quartier DIX30, so the garages here range from fifty-year-old slabs to floors that have never been driven on.

Whatever the age, bare concrete loses the same fight: road salt off Highway 10 and the 30, freeze-thaw, and hot summer tires. Our polyaspartic system is three times harder than epoxy, UV-stable, salt and chemical resistant, and installed in one to two days with a 5-year written warranty.

BROSSARD SLABS

What we find in Brossard garages

Brossard is where we most often get called about a floor that already failed, and the cause is nearly always the same: hot tire pickup. A car coming off Highway 10 or the 30 in July parks with tires near 70°C, and that heat softens any coating that was not built for it. The tire then grips harder than the coating grips the concrete, and when you reverse out it lifts a patch clean off. It is what kills most hardware-store epoxy kits within two summers. Polyaspartic does not soften at those temperatures, which is the single biggest reason it outlasts epoxy in a driveway-facing garage.

Brossard spans both ends of the range: original sector bungalows are often 200–300 sq ft singles at $2,499.99, while the newer DIX30-area builds are typically 450–550 sq ft doubles at $3,999.99.

My old epoxy floor peeled where the tires sit. Can you go over it?
Not over it, no — that failed layer has to come off completely, and we diamond-grind it back to bare concrete first. Coating over a delaminated floor just buys you one more summer. Once it is ground off, polyaspartic goes down on sound concrete and does not have the same failure mode.
Why does the tire lift the coating and not the concrete?
Because the weak point is the bond, not the material. A hot tire plasticises a soft coating and effectively welds itself to it; whichever bond is weaker lets go first. With a cheap epoxy that is the bond to the slab. Grinding creates a mechanical key rather than relying on adhesion to a smooth surface, which is why prep matters more than the product.
